The supplied index reports that gardenia fruit extract was tested in IL-4/IL-13-stimulated keratinocytes, reconstructed epidermis, and an MC903-induced mouse dermatitis model. Results showed decreased expression of inflammatory mediators IL-24, IL-33, and CCL26, increased expression of tight junction proteins CLDN1, CLDN4, and OVOL1, and further gene-interference and inhibitor experiments examining the association of STAT6 phosphorylation with these changes.
