The supplied index describes a study on Paeonia suffruticosa root-bark extract (PSAE). The work combined compositional and in vitro antioxidant assays, UV-exposed keratinocytes and fibroblasts, a 3D skin model, and single-application human forearm evaluation at 2, 4 and 6 hours. Under the tested conditions, the extract modulated ROS, senescence markers and collagen-related indicators, influenced the IRS1/PI3K/FOXO pathway, and short-term instrumental changes in TEWL, hydration, roughness and elasticity parameters were observed relative to baseline.
The total phenolic content of Paeonia root bark extract (PSAE) was 48.9%.Compositional analysis
After a single forearm application of PSAE, changes in TEWL, skin hydration, and some roughness and elasticity parameters were observed at 2, 4 and 6 hours compared with baseline.Human instrumental evaluation (single-application, short-term measurements)
